Ragnarok Online 2 Reaches the West

Being in development for several years, Ragnarok Online 2 was a nearly forgotten pipe dream, even after all the hype the original built up almost a decade ago. In 2010, it was even completely scrapped and re-announced all over again as Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second.

While it finally was released on the Gamebryo engine last year in Korea, there were only a few quips of localization being revealed in the last few weeks. But after a brief April beta, GRAVITY CO.’s game is finally released in the West and available on Steam as a F2P title.

The Fate series by Type-Moon is known for its many alternative universes, and timelines. But now, the long awaited Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA manga is getting an animated series. This version of the franchise stars Illyasviel (Ilya) von Einzbern, originally a side character and adoptive sister to main character, Shiro Emiya. In this spinoff, she becomes a magical girl in a far more peaceful (albeit far-removed) version of her world.

Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa localized and now on iOS.

Siliconera uncovered trademark licenses for the three Idolm@ster Shiny Festa games a few months ago, and it turns out the games ARE now localized and have been ported to iOS devices without any PR fanfare. The three games have pre-rendered music videos based on the 3D models from The Idolm@ster 2 and 2D designs from The Idolm@ster animated series.

image

The three have been renamed for the localization. Honey Sound is now Harmonic Score, Groovy Tune is now Melodic Disc, and Funky Note is now Rhythmic Record. The games each feature different groups of girls from the franchise, along with three 30-minute OVA of said girls going on a tropical vacation. Shiny Festa’s progression revolves around building up “Memory Hearts” with the girls depending on the songs you play and competing to become the “Star-Of-Festa”.

The caveat in all of this is that each of the three games cost $54.99 a piece. That’s currently just as expensive as the retail PSP games in Japan at launch. Getting all three of them will ring up at $164.97 and there’s additional DLC, but we have yet to see the pricing (if any).

The games can be  purchased here:
