NYCC 2012: Kotobukiya’s Marvel Bishoujo Kitty Pryde
NYCC is finally here, which of course means news! There are always a few Bishoujo reveals at every big convention, and this year Kotobukiya brought along the fully sculpted and painted Kitty Pryde prototype. We haven’t even seen rt for her before! Kitty is my favorite female Marvel character, so I am thrilled that she is finally getting a decent figure. The pose and face look great, though the lack of Lockheed makes me sad. Maybe he’ll be added on later! She’s slated for a 2nd quarter 2013 release, so we should be seeing orders soon.
More NYCC Coverage:
I’ve never been shy about the fact that I love the Bishoujo line of toys from Kotobukiya but this one, at this point I have to take some issue with it. You know why? Because having Kitty without Lockheed is like having The New Testament without Jesus. You really can’t have one without the other.
Still I’m really happy with the character choice as Kitty has always been one of my favorite X-men.
[Update] We made some effort at reaching out and have discovered that yes! Lockheed is part of the figure and he currently isn’t sculpted yet. What other elements will there be to this little lady? I now can’t wait to find out
